Elephant Stew
by Joanne's Aunt Lois

  • I was looking for family recipes to send to my sister who's making a cookbook to give to her daughter when I came across this recipe typed out by my Aunt Lois. This might give you a clue as to where I get my sense of humor!

1 Elephant

Brown Gravy

Salt & Pepper

2 Rabbits (optional)

Cut elephant in bite size pieces. This should take about two months. cover with brown gravy and cook over a kerosene fire for about four weeks at 465 degrees. This will serve 3,800 people. If more are expected 2 rabbits may be added-but do this only if necessary as most people do not like to fine hare in their stew.
